[Blog Update] Hydrogen Vehicle or Electric Vehicle, what is your choice?
Recently a lot of Electric Vehicles released such as The Chevrolet Bolt, the Nissan Leaf Plus, the Hyundai Kona EV, the Tesla Model 3 and The Kia Niro EV, those are affordable EVs that have reached or exceeded the 200-mile (320 Kilometer) barrier.
I even considering EV for myself, which is not a surprising idea, even though Kia Sportage SUV is at home for more a year now. Lately, we have more charging stations for Electric Vehicles nearby residence. One full charge of Kia Niro within an hour and less than 5,000KRW( 4.4USD), the Electric Vehicle with the battery can go from Seoul to Daegu directly or to Daejun, not a problem without stopping by for fuel charge. You should charge once if you choose to go to Busan from Seoul, and that is quite reasonable because gasoline vehicles drivers often stop at least once or twice between Seoul and Busan drive, 389 Kilometers (240miles), because Kia Niro can go 385Km (239 miles) with one full charge and one mile gap though. Needless to say that South Korea highways provide with lot more various foods and services than anywhere else in the world, that I can be so sure of and quite proud of because we have food delights and each region show off local specialities.
Hyundai Nexo, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (or Hydrogen EVFCEV) can drive 609km (378miles) per charge for 5 minutes, and full charge needs 6.3Kilogram hydrogen with budget of 50,000 KRW (USD 43), but the thing is that hydrogen fuelling station is only about ten places in South Korea, and other countries are in similar cases, only a handful ones in the UK, 39 places in the US. It, by the way, is reported that Hyundai will expand Truck and Bus with Hydrogen vehicles, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles.
Tesla recently is set to acquire Maxwell Technologies which is known supercapacitor manufacturer, and that can imply many untold messages for supercapacitor role for Electric Vehicle energy source back up and I am keen on the news as VINATech is also one of the leading supercapacitor manufacturers as well as Catalyst supporter, or catalyst or MEA. The energy source for EV is co-related to the eco-friendly energy storage device, a supercapacitor (Electric double layer capacitor) for battery back up or carbon solutions.
Many drivers wondering or may be confused about which will be the mainstream of Electric Vehicles next generation between by Battery or by Hydrogen or something new because we only live 24 hours a day, can't drive too far only to charge the vehicles after all the years of EV energy source competitions. I carefully expect mainstream will replace minor choices. In Japan Toyota, Honda, and Nissan altogether is building more hydrogen fueling stations all over the countries, which will lead more drivers in the long run and will have a chance to become the major vehicles. Well equipped infrastructure is a key factor for growing the EV needs and the main factor to win the game, and South Korea has over 7,000 Electric charge stations now compared to over 10,000 Gasoline stations.
