Tesla will build a manufacturing line for battery in Fremont, California, and looking for an employee in Colorado and the job description includes the fabrication of laboratory-scale Li-ion anodes, electrode processing, laboratory-scale Li-ion cell builds, and et Cetra. 

Quoted from an article of Futurism.com, battery developers working for Tesla insists that they built a battery pack that could power a car for a million miles (appr. 1.6million kilometres).  And it introduced one research about the new kind of lithium-ion battery tests done by the Univ. of Dalhousie researchers. According to research published in the Journal of the Electrochemical Society, recharging possible over 6,000 times and it means to be able to travel over a million miles on the same battery.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said, at the company’s annual meeting in June, that his forecast of 1 million Teslas capable of being robotaxis(self-driving or driverless taxi) on the road by the end of next year. Still, it is unclear that his robotaxis will be equipped with a new battery that he has been working on or not, however it is quite clear to make its own battery from Tesla battery line sooner or later.
